Before you follow a suggestionSkinLab provides cosmetic estimates, not medical care. Results are not guaranteed and products can cause irritation or allergies. Consult a dermatologist before changing your routine, and stop using a product if it causes a reaction. Your statutory rights remain protected.

General Terms

These Terms of Use explain the purpose of SkinLab and the responsibilities that apply when you use our mobile app, website, journal, routine tools, skin scans, insights, reports, or guided exercises (the "Service"). Read them before using the Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

SkinLab supports personal cosmetic care and habit tracking. The limits below apply to content and suggestions throughout the Service, including automated or AI-generated outputs and information personalised using your photos, profile, routine, or check-ins.

Cosmetic Information, Not Medical Advice

The Service provides general cosmetic information and estimates. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, prescriptions, or treatment, and it is not intended to identify, prevent, monitor, or treat a disease or medical condition. A skin score, concern label, product suggestion, exercise, or report is not a clinical assessment. Using SkinLab does not create a clinician–patient relationship.

Consult a qualified dermatologist or other appropriate healthcare professional before acting on a personalised skincare suggestion or making changes to your routine, especially if you have sensitive skin, known allergies, a skin condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or use medication or prescription skincare. Never disregard professional advice, delay seeking care, or change prescribed treatment because of anything shown in SkinLab.

Estimates and No Guaranteed Results

Automated and AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, or unsuitable for you. Image quality, lighting, camera angle, makeup, filters, and the information you provide can affect an estimate. SkinLab cannot reliably determine allergies, medical conditions, contraindications, or all interactions between products and medicines.

Skin scores, concern percentages, habit summaries, and product-fit ratings are cosmetic estimates. They are not validated medical measurements, a prediction of your individual outcome, or a certification of product safety. For example, a 96% product-fit rating does not mean a 96% chance that a product will work or will be free from side effects. A relationship shown between a habit and a skin observation does not establish that one caused the other.

We do not promise the best, optimal, or any particular cosmetic result, a specific improvement, a timeframe for results, or freedom from irritation, allergy, or other adverse effects. Individual responses vary. Screenshots, illustrative scores, examples, and progress images do not promise what you will experience. These limits on cosmetic outcomes do not reduce your rights if the Service is faulty, misdescribed, or supplied without the standard of care required by law.

Product Safety and Adverse Reactions

Any skincare product can cause a reaction, including products described as gentle, natural, hypoallergenic, or suitable for your skin type. A recommendation or high rating in SkinLab does not establish that a product or combination is safe for you. When deciding whether to use a product:

  • Check the actual product packaging, current ingredient list, warnings, expiry information, and manufacturer’s directions. Follow your clinician’s advice rather than an app suggestion if they conflict.
  • Do not use ingredients you know you are allergic to. Ask a dermatologist or pharmacist about suitability, active ingredients, combinations, and any concerns that cannot be resolved from the label.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s or your clinician’s advice about trying a new product on a small area first. An uneventful initial test does not rule out a later reaction or replace professional allergy testing. See the American Academy of Dermatology’s product-testing guidance.
  • If you develop a rash, redness, itching, burning, swelling, or other irritation, stop using the suspected product and seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Do not keep applying it to complete a routine, maintain a streak, or improve a score.
  • Seek emergency medical help for difficulty breathing or sudden swelling of the lips, mouth, tongue, or throat. See the NHS guidance on serious allergic reactions. Do not wait for a response from SkinLab support.

Guided face exercises are optional general wellness content and do not promise a cosmetic or therapeutic benefit. Stop any exercise that causes pain, dizziness, or discomfort, and obtain professional advice if you have an injury, medical condition, or recent procedure that may make it unsuitable.

Third-Party Products and Suggestions

Products mentioned, entered, or displayed in SkinLab may be made and sold by independent third parties. Their formulations and directions can change, and information in the Service may not reflect the exact item you own. A product listing, suggested routine, fit rating, or link is not an approval of its safety, quality, effectiveness, or suitability for you.

The manufacturer’s and seller’s obligations remain their own. Our responsibilities for the information and digital service we provide are explained below; references to third parties do not remove those responsibilities.

Our Responsibilities and Your Legal Rights

We must provide the Service with the care and skill required by applicable law. Where we breach our obligations or fail to exercise that care, we remain responsible for loss or harm for which the law makes us responsible. The cosmetic limits above are not a waiver of a valid claim and do not excuse misleading statements or unsafe conduct by us.

We are not responsible for a reaction or other loss caused solely by a third-party product, or by use contrary to the product’s directions or appropriate professional advice, where no breach of our obligations, negligence, or other unlawful act by us caused or contributed to that harm. A reaction occurring after use of the Service does not by itself establish who is responsible; responsibility depends on the facts and applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your mandatory consumer rights, including applicable rights concerning faulty or misdescribed digital content, reasonable care and skill, refunds, and other remedies, remain intact. This paragraph takes priority over any conflicting wording elsewhere in these Terms.

License

SkinLab grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to download, install and use the app strictly in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.

These Terms & Conditions are a contract between you and SkinLab (referred to in these Terms & Conditions as "SkinLab", "us", "we" or "our"), the provider of the SkinLab website and the services accessible from the SkinLab website (which are collectively referred to in these Terms & Conditions as the "SkinLab Service").

You are agreeing to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms & Conditions, please do not use the SkinLab Service. In these Terms & Conditions, "you" refers both to you as an individual and to the entity you represent. If you violate any of these Terms & Conditions, we reserve the right to cancel your account or block access to your account without notice.

  • Company: when this policy mentions "Company," "we," "us," or "our," it refers to SkinLab, that is responsible for your information under this Terms & Conditions.
  • Country: where SkinLab or the owners/founders of SkinLab are based, in this case is United Kingdom.
  • Device: any internet connected device such as a phone, tablet, computer or any other device that can be used to visit SkinLab and use the services.
  • Service: refers to the service provided by SkinLab as described in the relative terms (if available) and on this platform.
  • Third-party service: refers to advertisers, contest sponsors, promotional and marketing partners, and others who provide our content or whose products or services we think may interest you.
  • Website: SkinLab's site.
  • You: a person or entity that is registered with SkinLab to use the Services.

Restrictions

You agree not to, and you will not permit others to:

  • License, sell, rent, lease, assign, distribute, transmit, host, outsource, disclose or otherwise commercially exploit the app or make the platform available to any third party.
  • Modify, make derivative works of, disassemble, decrypt, reverse compile or reverse engineer any part of the app.
  • Remove, alter or obscure any proprietary notice (including any notice of copyright or trademark) of SkinLab or its affiliates, partners, suppliers or the licensors of the app.

Return and Refund Policy

Thanks for shopping at SkinLab. We appreciate the fact that you like to buy the stuff we build. We also want to make sure you have a rewarding experience while you're exploring, evaluating, and purchasing our products.

As with any shopping experience, there are terms and conditions that apply to transactions at SkinLab. We'll be as brief as our attorneys will allow. The main thing to remember is that by placing an order or making a purchase at SkinLab, you agree to the terms along with SkinLab's Privacy Policy.

If, for any reason, You are not completely satisfied with any good or service that we provide, don't hesitate to contact us and we will discuss any of the issues you are going through with our product.

Your Suggestions

Any feedback, comments, ideas, improvements or suggestions (collectively, "Suggestions") provided by you to SkinLab with respect to the app shall remain the sole and exclusive property of SkinLab.

SkinLab shall be free to use, copy, modify, publish, or redistribute the Suggestions for any purpose and in any way without any credit or any compensation to you.

Privacy and Your Agreement

Our Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled, including information used to generate cosmetic insights. Agreeing to these Terms does not waive your privacy rights, and it does not replace any separate consent required by law for data processing.

This Terms & Conditions applies only to the Services. The Services may contain links to other websites not operated or controlled by SkinLab. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or opinions expressed in such websites, and such websites are not investigated, monitored or checked for accuracy or completeness by us. Please remember that when you use a link to go from the Services to another website, our Terms & Conditions are no longer in effect. Your browsing and interaction on any other website, including those that have a link on our platform, is subject to that website's own rules and policies. Such third parties may use their own cookies or other methods to collect information about you.

Cookies

SkinLab uses "Cookies" to identify the areas of our website that you have visited. A Cookie is a small piece of data stored on your computer or mobile device by your web browser. We use Cookies to enhance the performance and functionality of our app but are non-essential to their use. However, without these cookies, certain functionality like videos may become unavailable or you would be required to enter your login details every time you visit the app as we would not be able to remember that you had logged in previously. Most web browsers can be set to disable the use of Cookies. However, if you disable Cookies, you may not be able to access functionality on our website correctly or at all. We never place Personally Identifiable Information in Cookies.

Changes To Our Terms & Conditions

You acknowledge and agree that SkinLab may stop (permanently or temporarily) providing the Service (or any features within the Service) to you or to users generally at SkinLab's sole discretion, without prior notice to you. You may stop using the Service at any time. You do not need to specifically inform SkinLab when you stop using the Service. You acknowledge and agree that if SkinLab disables access to your account, you may be prevented from accessing the Service, your account details or any files or other materials which is contained in your account.
